Academic research methods for the law student : a practical guide (second edition)

Abstract

I am delighted to express my views on the second edition of Professor Frances Camilleri-Cassar's outstanding work. I recall writing in her 2018 edition that this was a pioneering work on academic methods of research with specific reference to the needs of law students. I had stated that her valued monograph would play a vital role in the research conducted by our law students. Indeed, I have noted a marked improvement in the standard of student dissertations and theses. I am confident that Prof Camilleri-Cassar's work has contributed to this achievement.

In the current edition, Professor Camilleri-Cassar consolidates further her reliable and useful guidance on the latest trends in research methodologies and methods as expected of law students internationally. With respect to Malta, the chapter on law and economics is grogndbreaking and is of immense relevance not only to the research of law students but also and especially to legislators and policy makers. It is evident that we can no longer afford to ignore the economic ramifications of proposed legislation.
