The significance of the War Damage Commission in the recovery of Malta from the aftermath of war is examined in this article by Anthony Zarb Dimech. The construction industry in Malta is the main sector that sustains the economic growth. Malta is one of the most densely populated and built-up country globally, which was not the case after the Second World War when it emerged as the most bombed place on earth. This underscores the essential role played by the War Damage Commission in aiding Malta's recovery from post-war devastation.en_GB
