dc.description.abstractThe year 1959 saw a document forecasting the grim aftermath of a 1 megaton nuclear explosion above Senglea, indicating a staggering death toll of over 143,000 individuals and 37,000 seriously wounded, surpassing 62% of Malta's population. These detailed projections were shared with the Passive Defence Sub-Committee by the Malta Defence Committee.
