Abstract: Completed in 1751, Casa Manresa in Floriana was officially inaugurated in 1753 by Fr Pier Francesco Rosignoli, a Jesuit priest hailing from Novara. Following the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1768, the property came under the ownership of the Diocese of Malta. The dedication ceremony honouring Our Lady of Manresa was held on March 16, 1771, and the chapel, home to the relics of St Calcedonius, was consecrated by Bishop Labini on July 23, 1786. Archbishop Charles Scicluna has played a pivotal role in overseeing the recent extensive refurbishment and maintenance works at Casa Manresa, now serving as the Curia. Michael Pace Ross and Fr Nicholas Doublet delve into the history of this impressive building in Floriana.
