Abstract: Manoel Theatre and the Austrian Opera Group Vienna Opera Company, in association with Austrian Airlines and Hilton International Malta, present the programme for the 2 operettas: "Die Fledermaus" (written by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy, with music composed by Johann Strauss), and "Die Lustige Witwe" (written by Viktor Léon and Leo Stein, with music composed by Franz Lehár). The operetta performances featured music conducted by Rudolf Gerstenbauer, and performed by the Manoel Theatre Resident Orchestra (led by George Spiteri) and the Manoel Theatre Choir (instructed by Marietta Magro). The performance of "Die Fledermaus" was held from the 14th till the 16th of October, and the performance of "Die Lustige Witwe" was held from the 21st till the 23rd of October, 1982. Both of the performances were held at the Manoel theatre, in Valletta.
Description: Programme includes list of forthcoming events at the Manoel theatre, list of crew with some signatures, lists of casts with some signatures and synopses of scenes in "Die Fledermaus" and "Die Lustige Witwe", and note on Manoel theatre's founder Grand Master Antonio Manoel De Vilhena.
