| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Culture present the programme for a contest of the bands ("Konkors tal-Baned 1982"), featuring Banda 'Prince of Wales' (Birgu), Banda 'La Stella' (Gudja), Għaqda Mużikali 'L'Isle Adam' (Rabat), Banda Annunziata (Tarxien), Banda Żejtun, and Għaqda Mużikali 'San Mikiel' (Żabbar). The contest, which was presented by Lino Gatt, featured the musical works of George Gershwin, Phillip Gatt, Lorenzo Gonzi, Joseph M. Barbara, Anthony Micallef, Carmelo Pace, Gounod, and Mascagni. The performance was held from the 10th till the 12th of December, 1982, at the Manoel theatre, in Valletta. |
