Abstract: | This research has investigated the relations between the US and Russia in the light of Ukrainian crises of 2013. The crises in Ukraine shaped the world and aspired scholars and politics to reconsider the possibilities of a new Cold War. Thus, the research question of this dissertation is whether the Ukrainian crises could lead to a new Cold War between Russia and the USA. In order to answer this question, methodology instruments such as content analysis, historic analysis, comparative analysis and deductive, inductive, classification and forecasting methods were employed throughout the research. They have been useful in the literature review chapter that includes the Russian’s and Western scholars’ discussions on the Cold War phenomenon; the theoretical chapter, that helps to apply the International relations theories to understand the concept of the Cold War and to define the US-Russian relations that were influenced by the Ukrainian crises. In addition, the analysis chapters divided into subsections called ‘Russia’s policy in Ukraine’, ‘US’s policy in Ukraine’ and ‘Comparison of the US and Russian policies in the Ukrainian crises’ make it possible to assess the relationship between the US and Russia, to determine the controversy over the Ukrainian crises and to answer the research question. |
