| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Culture present the programme for a contest of the bands ("Konkors tal-Baned 1983"), featuring Mount Carmel Band Club (conducted by Carmelo Schembri), Banda San Gorg Martri (conducted by Abel J. Mizzi), Għaqda Muzikali San Mikiel (conducted by Mro. John Pace), Duke of Connaught’s Own Band Club (conducted by Andrew Coleiro), and Banda 'La Stella' (conducted by Angelo Pace). The contest featured the musical works of Mro. Carmelo Schembri, Mro. John Pace, Adeodato Gatt, Angelo Pace, Beethoven, Giordano, and Tchaikovsky. The performance was held from the 2nd till the 4th of December, 1983, at the Manoel theatre, in Valletta. |
