Abstract: | On 15 March 2019, a group of 47 Maltese citizens joined citizens from Trapani, Palermo, Agrigento and Pantelleria for the third and final transnational dialogue on the Future of Europe. Following the first two dialogues in Palermo and Malta respectively, the third meeting was held at the Università degli Studi in Trapani. The meeting in Trapani discussed in small groups diverse issues related to the future of Europe such as the multi-annual budget, agriculture, employment, foreign relations, fiscal matters and the environment. Alessandro Giordani - Head of Unit ‘Citizens' Contact’, of the European Commission explained to the participants some issues at stake in the upcoming European elections, among which the Spitzenkandidaten process and the importance of voting. Other speakers who addressed the participants in plenary were representatives of the Mayor of Trapani and of the Prefecture of Trapani. |
