Abstract: Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) elastomers, renowned for their versatility, have witnessed a rapid surge in additive manufacturing (AM) applications. From a single published paper in 2014, research on AM of TPU has grown exponentially to 220 papers in 2023. This review comprehensively examines its advancements and challenges, delving into suitable AM techniques, the relationship of TPU material properties with printability and performance, and the influence of processing and post-processing parameters on print quality. By synthesizing recent findings, this review provides a comprehensive understanding of the current state and potential of TPU in AM, fostering future research and innovation in this dynamic field.
