Abstract: Manoel Theatre and the Department of Education present the programme for a set of performances featured in "Il-Festival tad-Drama 1988", performed by students from several Maltese primary and secondary schools. The plays featured were the following: "Marzju u Ventu f'Malta" (written by Anne Bailey, and directed by T. Galea), "Is-Sejħa" (written by Trevor Zahra, and directed by Oliver Pace), "The King Who Limped" (written by Monica Thorne, and produced by M. Vella, R. Grixti, and A. West), "Dak Li Ma Riedx Jidħol il-Ġenna" (written by G.F. Sladden, and translated into Maltese and directed by Manuel D. Schembri), and "Il-Prinċep Wiċċ id-Dawl" (written by Oscar Wilde, and adapted, translated into Maltese, and directed by Carmel Azzopardi). The performances were held on the 26th and the 27th of May, 1988, at Manoel Theatre, in Valletta.
Description: Programme includes message from the Minister of Education Dr Ugo Mifsud Bonnici with his photo, list of featured plays including the respective schools performing them, list of acknowledgements from the Department of Education, essay on the value of drama written by E. O. of the Drama Unit Charles J. Xerri, synopses and lists of casts and crew for "Marzju u Ventu f'Malta", "Is-Sejħa", "The King Who Limped", "Dak Li Ma Riedx Jidħol il-Ġenna", and "Il-Prinċep Wiċċ id-Dawl" with group photos of casts, and lists of primary and secondary schools performing in "Il-Festival tad-Drama 1988".
