| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre and Associazione Mattia Battistini (Roma), in collaboration with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, present the programme for the 2-part tragic opera "Lucia di Lammermoor" (written by Salvatore Cammarano, with music composed by Gaetana Donizetti), and the 3-act lyric opera "Tosca" (written by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica). The operas were both directed by Franca Valeri, and both feature the Manoel Theatre Orchestra (conducted by Maurizio Rinaldi) and the AR.P.A Chorus (directed by Emanuela Di Pietro). The opera "Lucia di Lammermoor" was held on the 26th, the 28th, and the 30th of May, 1989, while the opera "Tosca" was held on the 27th, the 29th, and the 31st of May, 1989. Both operas were held at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta. |
