Syria and the spill-over tensions between the US and Russia : exploring Syria’s conflict and alternative diplomatic solutions

Abstract

This study compiles conflict resolution theories, methods and suggestions with the intention of highlighting working methods and juxtaposing them against factors of time, interests and positions. These elements have protracted the conflict, thus making settlement intricately more complex in nature. In the interest of gaining a broader understanding of the role of diplomacy in the theatre of war,this study explores the nuances of both the domestic and external aspects of the conflict and discusses the roles of the actors involved.
