Abstract: | In the rapidly evolving landscape of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the interplay of creativity and innovation is more critical than ever. This paper explores the connections between creativity, innovation, and modern citizenship, focusing on "Creativity and Innovation 4.0" to understand how these dimensions contribute to technological advancements and reshape societal norms. Central to this exploration is the concept of possibility thinking (PT), which serves as a catalyst for fostering innovative mindsets and creative solutions that challenge traditional boundaries and the status quo. By fostering environments where PT thrives, individuals and communities can engage more deeply with complex ethical considerations and cultivate a critical perspective toward innovation and its societal impacts. The discourse weaves together theoretical insights and practical examples, incorporating concepts such as Bakhtin's polyphony and Lubart's 7 Cs of Creativity, to demonstrate how creativity and PT can nurture proactive, responsible citizenship deeply engaged with global challenges. The paper also addresses the challenges and limitations of PT, including technological inequalities and the practical implementation of innovative pedagogies. Ultimately, it outlines a pathway toward a society where creativity and innovation serve not only economic development but also the enrichment of democratic life and the promotion of sustainable and inclusive progress in the 21st century. |
