Abstract: When speaking about transmission of the faith within the families we are speaking about the Church at grassroots level. The faith which is lived in families and transmitted from one generation to another implies two important elements: Tradition and culture. Let us look at both of them in the context of Vatican II teachings as well as their interrelationship in order to conclude with some ideas which may enlighten us in considering a better encounter of the Gospel with family life.
