Abstract: | Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a condition about which one does not very often hear in Malta. This is understandable due to the low incidence of the disease in our islands, an incidence which is significantly lower than that of nearby Sicilian towns such as Enna, Agrigento, Acireale and Caltanisetta and, indeed, of the rest of Europe. Yet MS is the most common non-traumatic neurological disease in young adults in the world and afflicts some 2.5 million persons worldwide. |
