Abstract: | The theme of this editorial presents some observations regarding the importance of medicine with particular reference to Malta. Emphasis are placed on the value of gratitude, especially when the knowledge in medicine is passed from the master to the apprentice, so much so that the relation should be a vital one, like that of his own parents. Another prominent feature which is accentuated is the way Malta should show gratitude towards Britain, the Mother Country. In Malta, the editorial sustains, we are indebted to British Medicine, and in this regard, without rejecting our own language, the English language should be given its due importance, as it is the world language of science. The pro-British concept keeps being echoed underlining the crucial link that needs to be fostered, which is essential to increase our knowledge in order to improve our medical learning. |
