Abstract: The name of Michel`Angelo Grima is familiar to most members of the Maltese medical profession. However, beyond knowing that he was an accomplished surgeon and that he had proposed the end-to-end anastomosis of the human intestines by a continuous spiral suture, a full list of his literary works had not been as yet compiled. This is not surprising, in view of the fact that a complete collection of his writings has not been available in Malta. The author has succeeded in tracing the whereabouts of several of the missing works and to discover others whose existence had been unknown. A bibliography of his works is listed in chronological order, whereby the most fruitful phase of Grima`s original research and literary activity coincides with his stay in Florence and Paris. Furthermore, summaries and notes about each work are provided, also highlighting the main milestones in Grima`s professional life.
