Abstract: The common mode voltage at the output of matrix converters is firstly analyzed in this paper. An approach to reduced it, when a direct torque control scheme is employed to drive a permanent magnet synchronous motor, is then proposed. Simulation results are shown to demonstrate the theoretical background. Experimental results corroborating the effectiveness of the proposed method are also shown.
