Abstract: This study analyses children’s development through games and activities related to drama. Observation analysis and parental input discussing how children can achieve their full potential within an environment promoting interactivity and social skills through drama is discussed. The purpose for this research is to analyse how drama can be an asset to develop children’s inner strengths and boost their confidence. Children benefit in role play exercises as they can pretend to be someone else. Such exercises allow children to communicate and improve their social skills. My observations will be conducted during drama classes that children attend after school hours. The research will enable me to view the children’s progression in the activities conducted by the drama teacher. Analysis will be provided throughout this document analysing the observations and studies made with respect to the application of drama and how this extra curricular activity can help in their personal, social, academic and cultural development.
