dc.description.abstractThe information contained in the booklet is based on the Bill amending the Civil Code, which was published in the Government Gazette of Friday, March 5th, 1993. The Bill enhances the status of married women. This Bill is a way to further legal, social and economic changes in the relationship between members of the family. The Civil Code will embody the just and fundamental principle of equality between husband and wife. The Bill provides for a number of improvements to the Civil Code regarding the position of the wife, the parents authority over their children, personal separation, and property acquired during marriage.en_GB
