| Abstract: | The initiative for a "European Campaign on North-South Interdependence and Global Survival" was taken at the Conference "North-South: Europe's Role" held in Lisbon in April 1984 under the auspices of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The objectives set for the campaign were to raise public awareness of the complex structural relationship which affects European and Third World people in their day to day life, to prepare for recognition and acceptance by the public and the elected representatives of forthcoming policy requirements regarding North-South relations and to promote opportunities for contacts between policy-makers of Europe and the Third World and on selected aspects of North-South Interdependence. |
