Passing through the main historical events it will look at the role that dance, music and arts had during their daily life also touching a very significant era which is the Harlem Renaissance. Many artists came out from this period marked by great innovations, but this dissertation will look mostly at Alvin Ailey, his artistic talent, his dance company and at one of his main works; Revelations 1960. Through a scrupulous study and analysis this paper will explore all the several changes and progressions of this work within the Afro-American world.
