| Abstract: | Let us now pass to treat of the authority of St Thomas Aquinas in theology which is the main object of this article. We have said that the most specific quality of a Father or a Doctor of the Church is the approbation of the Church. The Church does not approve all the Fathers and Doctors in one and the same way; but there are degrees and differences in the approbation according to the value of the works of each Father and Doctor. |
