Abstract: This exploration entails the subject of mindfulness in conjunction to design, and how one can experience the resulting effects of mindfulness meditation through a visually designed handbook. An aim of this study is to gain an understanding of how mindfulness works to counteract negative emotions and ailments that arise due to anxiety. Additionally, it also seeks to see how an artistic medium can be applied to diminish such problems. With the use of interviewing and focus groups as methodological approaches, data has been collected and analysed in order to create the final product. The project consists of the creation of a designed handbook and a set of posters which instruct the readers and viewers on the practice of mindfulness, so as to help gain an experience and a sense of calmness in the present moment.
