| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this dissertation is to provide a study and a critical edition of five psalms and a Magnificat by Giuseppe Vella (1827-1910). This dissertation will comprise the following: Chapter 1 - A Brief Biography of Giuseppe Vella: Chapter 2 - Church Music in Malta during the Mid-Nineteenth Century: Chapter 3 - Analysis of the five psalms and Magnificat: Chapter 4 – A Critical Edition of the Five Psalms and Magnificat: Chapter 5 - Conclusion.
