Issue Date: 2010
Abstract: The regulation of the procedure of adoption is regulated primarily for the protection of the adopted child and the regulation of adoption agencies, adoption board and prospective and adoptive parents. This is a very sensitive subject and the well being of a child is at stake thus extra care must be taken. Part I of the thesis focuses upon introducing the subject of adoption and giving an overview of what such a procedure entails. The laws relating to the process of adoption in general are delved into in this part. Part II on the other hand, analyses the post adoption services and reports as well as enters a debate on whether post adoption reports are a breach of privacy or a necessity. The law is stated as known to me on the 10th May 2010.
