Abstract: | Malta has a long history of culture, and culture is the basis of people's life. In terms of rich history of migration backgrounds, and the composition of Maltese culture and society, it has been mixed. However, Malta's multi-cultural aspect has a long history that goes back more than 7000 years. This study investigates the contribution of Chinese culture to Maltese society. The argument of this thesis is that the presence of Chinese people and Chinese culture in Malta can enrich Maltese society, culture as well as the tourism sector, both local and international. The China Cultural Centre in Malta is a bridge for local people to share Chinese cultural experiences. The Centre promotes cross-culture dialogue and communication and culture exchange between China and Malta. The CCCM is a non-profit Chinese government funded organization, achieving the goals of promoting Chinese culture in Malta by offering free information and organising various cultural programmes and activities to the Maltese public. The mission of the Centre is to promote Chinese culture and facilitate the prosperity of the Maltese people, culture, and society. Therefore, this research investigates the contribution of Chinese culture to Maltese society, by surveying Chinese cultural activities and analysing the findings of the research. Via this epistemological investigation, which includes a cultural studies approach, this research is concerned with identifying and iii acknowledging the Chinese tradition. It also seeks to specify the social reproduction of that tradition in a Maltese context which thus creates and enhances both knowledge and understanding about the contribution of the Chinese people and Chinese culture to Maltese society as well as the tourism sector.
