The Faculty and Staff of the Department of Nursing welcome you to explore the vast array of programmes offered by the department as well as the exciting opportunities available to those pursuing a career in nursing.
The Department of Nursing seeks to be a centre of excellence, contributing to the Maltese health care service through the education of nurses, research and participation in health care and social policy development.
The Department offers full-time courses at undergraduate level in general and mental health nursing, leading to registration with the Council for Nurses and Midwives Malta.
The Department works collaboratively with national public and private health care institutions which provide support for clinical experiences in diverse clinical settings. Our undergraduate students are well supported by clinicians in practice, as well as by academics during their three year course of studies, with the aim of educating nurses of the highest quality. The Department seeks to foster collaboration with other Universities and actively promotes student and faculty exchange through the Erasmus programme.
The Department of Nursing also seeks to promote lifelong learning of practicing nurses by offering part-time undergraduate degrees in mental health and community nursing and undergraduate certificates in a wide range of specialities including critical care, paediatrics, cancer care, care of the elderly and rehabilitation.
The Department leads an online degree in Health Science for qualified health professionals and offers courses at Masters level in Nursing and Mental Health . The Department of Nursing also supports nurses to continue their studies at Doctoral level.
