| Abstract: | In the aza-Friedel–Crafts reaction of 3,4-dichlorobenzaldehyde, indole, and N-methylaniline, the catalyst was recovered by filtration and reused four times with slight loss of its catalytic activity (fourth run; 99% yield; fifth run; 89%). A hot-filtration experiment suggested that the reaction occurred heterogeneously. |
