dc.description.abstract | In this piece, Sarah Carabott introduces us to St Paul the Apostle Church Complex in Toronto, a long-standing church in Canada that acts as a museum space for first and second generation Maltese in the community. Located in Dundas street, Toronto the complex collects, preserves and displays social history artifacts from official documents to photographs, and historic/ religious objects. Carabott introduces us to the museum’s Curator, Richard Combo, his Maltese origins and association to the museum. Next she refers to the museum’s original collector, Fr Raymond Falzon OFM who began collecting artifacts from Maltese migrants back in the late 1980’s – before the museum officially opened it’s doors to the public. The article gives a glimpse of when and where the Maltese immigrants settled on the North American Continent as well as how they continue to maintain their ties to the homeland. | en_GB |
