Abstract: This research set out to explore different means of how to increase motivation within a student who is also a holidaymaker. Having briefly worked in the EFL Industry as a summer teacher I noticed a heavy lack of motivation in many students who just stated; “I do not want to learn, I am on holiday”. I thought to myself, well fair enough, they are on holiday but it is useless that they are here and they just get an end-of stay certificate from the school with almost no sense of achievement. This is what mainly inspired me to do this long essay. By searching the opinions of students on whether they consider themselves as holidaymakers and by suggesting some other things that can be done to further elevate their motivation to learn and also for other potential students to choose Malta as their EFL destination. Other means included searching for the opinions of EFL teachers and directors in order to get unbiased opinions regarding the level of motivation of students and also some tips on how to get students motivated in class, the things which students would likely want to cover and themes which interest them and also on their opinions on what can be done to further increase the Maltese pull factor towards the EFL Industry. The findings included many opinions on both teacher and students point of views regarding on how these objectives can be reached and by these I managed to draw up several conclusions which allowed me to develop my very opinions about lack of motivation in the EFL classroom and also on what can be done to increase such a factor.
