Abstract: Communication is essential in our day to day life it is also essential when travelling to a foreign country. The purpose of this study is to understand and find out if bilingualism in Malta impact British tourists. The researcher opted for qualitative approach in order to carry out this study and gather data. Twelve structured interviews were carried out with British tourists on holiday in Malta. Data collected showed that although visitors did not think about the language matter before booking or choosing a holiday destination, it did have an impact on how much they enjoy their stay. From this researcher it was concluded that bilingualism is highly important and although not directly it is definitely attracting more British tourists to choose Malta repeatedly as their holiday destination. This is partially because they give a lot of importance to the communication with locals. The researcher came up with various recommendations to ensure bilingualism is strengthen and also keep attracting British tourists to the island.
