This volume brings together leading contributorscto the Third International Conference organized in Malta between, the 11th and 13th May 2008 by the Mediterranean Society of Comparative Education (MESCE). The chapters, addressing as they do key themes central to debates about societies from a post-colonial perspective, serve to show the value of adopting a Mediterranean comparative lens in order to better understand the educational issues, challenges and trends that mark the region. The volume is a joint initiative of MESCE and the Euro-Mediterranean Centre for Educational Research (EMCER).
