Abstract: Cases of paraplegia with or without sphincter disturbance or sensory impairment, occurring as a complication of brucellosis, have been reported mainly in French, Spanish, and Italian literature. Brucellosis paraplegia is considered one of the group of diseases called neurobrucellosis, a distinct pathological entity. Emphasis has been placed on the occurrence of brucellosis meningomyelitis, in which Brucella acts either through the production of meningovascular lesions or through compression of the cord by local arachnoiditis. The power of Brucella to localize in the meninges cannot be doubted.
