| Abstract: | In this article, Giovanni Bonello tells the story of a scandal that happened in Malta in 1702. The young Maria Muxi, from a wealthy family, was suspected by her brother Fabritio of having an 'improper friendship' with the knight Francesco Cutelli (Fra Francesco). Documents from the Notarial Archives revealed the details of the story, in which the Inquisitor and the Grand Master both took sides and turned into lead players. |
