Abstract: The subject-funding of water in Malta and Gozo, has repeatedly engaged the attention of the Government with a lot of care and success. In Malta, between 1840 and 1846, the sources of Wignacourt Aqueduct were made more abundant, and the aqueduct Fauara was built, powered by other sources; from 1863 to 1869 other new sources were added to those of the first aqueduct. Other aqueducts were built to carry water from new sources, Ta Armier, San Sebastian and La Victoria, in the valley of Casal Curmi; from 1858 to 1874, several reservoirs were built , some to collect rain water flowing on the surface of the soil in places that do not allow communications with other existing aqueducts, others to keep water from those aqueducts, for future years . In Gozo in the years 1840-43, an aqueduct was built to provide water to Rabato water source from Ghain Abdul and Ghar Elma, and between 1860 and 1874, several other reservoirs were built in different places.
