Abstract: Of the seizure disorders seen in childhood, febrile convulsions are the commonest and very often lead to hospital referral of the child. In these situations the affected child will benefit from good medical practice. On the other hand a lot of harm will be done by overmedication and by needlessly labelling the child as epileptic.
