Theatre in Malta : text and acting relationships

Abstract

This dissertation will develop a study on theatre in Malta by giving major focus on: the popular teatrin movement, Francis Ebejer‘s more modern practices, and the contemporary scene as evidenced in the Teatru Malta and Staġun Teatru Malti spheres. The thread that links the three focuses together is a juxtaposition of acting and textual processes. The dissertation also contributes to current research about theatre in Malta through its use of new interviews which I carried out, with such actors and personalities like Mr Paul Vella, Mrs Josephine Zammit Cordina, Mr Sean Buhagiar, Mr Mario Philip Azzopardi, and Ms Sarah Camilleri.
