Abstract: In treatment with medicines, it is important that the benefits to the patient, both long and short term, are greater than any problems which may be caused by the medicines administered. Several factors (Table 1) should be considered to enhance achievement of best results for the patient. These include: Clinical Picture, Plasma Levels of Drugs, Toxic Effects, Therapeutic Efficacy, Biochemical and Physiological Correlation and Compliance.
