Abstract: This study aims to focus on the public’s perception on factors such as crime, nationality and gender. With the increase in the levels of crime as well as the increase of the number of individuals entering and living in Malta, one comes to think whether there is a correlation between factors such as the offences committed and the nationality of the offender. This research starts out by reviewing literary documents and studies conducted which focus on crime and individuals of different citizenships and nationalities in foreign countries. In addition to that, local studies are made reference to regarding the increase and decrease of certain offences and the localities, which these are mostly committed in. The results within this study were obtained through online survey, which was posted on Facebook and was available to anyone. Regarding the results, the study will make available the public’s perception whilst comparing it to literary documents and reports as well as giving recommendations, which may aid in the development of such studies, which may be conducted in the near future.
