Abstract: The aim of this dissertation is to explore the structures, processes and challenges involved in re-engineering a company, using Mediterranean Insurance Brokers as a critical example, and how this affects the business itself and its stakeholders. This study is significant because the knowledge generated by this study is set to provide MIB and other firms in Malta with information on how to re-engineer company structures and processes and what is the best way to do so. The research seeks to encourage stakeholders and management to make these changes when need be, even though they may seem drastic. Twelve interviews were done. Two with GasanMamo Insurance, two with Melita, two with Bit8, two with a Bank, two with MAPFRE Middlesea and two with Mediterranean Insurance Brokers. The study shows that although business re-engineering is quite the challenge, it is worthwhile. In order to it properly, MIB or any other company, must plan, make good decisions, communicate the idea and finally implement it to achieve the desired goals.
