Climate change is one of the most central challenges that the human race is facing in the 21st century, and will likely face in the centuries to come. It has grown to become more than just a scientific concern, and now its impacts affect various dimensions of wellbeing. By undertaking a mixed methodological approach, this research aims to explore the ethical dilemma of climate change, review the measures that the EU has taken up in response to this, and identify the effectiveness of the implementation of its development policy in the country of Bangladesh, with a particular focus on climate change. The hypothesis of this research is based on the leadership position the EU has taken on climate change, and its strategy to tackle climate adaptation in Bangladesh, which has been verified as one of the most climate vulnerable countries in the world. Following the data collection, it can be understood that tackling climate change in Bangladesh is not a major concern for the EU; which might be perceived as the Union disregarding the country’s climate vulnerability. As a recommendation for future research that aims to investigate the effectiveness of such policies, it is suggested to perform an in-depth qualitative study in a climate vulnerable country on the implementation of the EU’s development policy with a particular focus on climate adaptation.en_GB
