dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study is to explore gender issues in the animated film Frozen. The research is carried out through a multimodal interpretation of six selected scenes, selected through a selective sample from the animated film, Frozen. This study, first recognises to discuss the media and its influence and impact on gender stereotypes on children’s media. Disney is discussed in the light of Disney princesses and gender roles. The impact of the 2013 animated film 'Frozen’ will also be taken into perspective. These scenes are analysed by a thematic analysis based on the researcher’s interpretation through the subordinate mode of language, in order to explore which gender issues, featured in the film. Upon my interpretation, the study explores implication in the early years’ settings by providing suggestions and implementation in the early years’ classroom, in order to expose children to be critical with regards to stereotypical notions. | en_GB |
