According to the author C. S. Lewis, integrity is a fundamental moral virtue and the backbone upon which good character is formed. To act with integrity is to embrace principles that involve values and even virtues despite the scenario or the outcome. This often demands moral courage which is the crucial connection between moral conviction and ethics. This brings forward the significance and substance of the subject matter of business ethics. The objective that focuses on the human being and the skills needed to achieve good quality habits through action. It is in line with the established practices dating back to ancient Greece, which emphasize that every human action has its effects, both on the performer and the receiver and on the quality of the relationships and the culture which is constantly unfolding. The present study will focus mainly on the field of business ethics. Giving an outline of the missing dimension of ethics, that led to recent great recession. It then proceeds to highlight the roots of ethics, how it evolved through the stages from the times of the great philosophers such as Socrates and Aristotle. Two deep thinkers who left behind no written legacy per se but instead assigned down in history some of their great thoughts for consideration. The role of business ethics explores the depths of the human being within the society, the markets trends together with the cultural diversity and the worldwide business organisations. The aspect of the person centred approach provides the original idea of understanding ethics as a guide to human excellence. With this in mind the human virtues are pivotal for the framing of the character to bring about high quality standards. This approach also takes in account principles and norms for good behaviour and also for obtaining cordial and just human relations. Finally, the key element is to illustrate that ethics in the commercial world is not only about conventions or declarations of right or wrong, rather it deals about meaningful actions and the personal responsibility of being ethical.en_GB
