Abstract: perception of casual and meaningful sex. Using a qualitative approach, two one-off focus groups were conducted with eight male and eight female participants, all aged between eighteen and twenty-four, and the results were analysed using thematic analysis. This research indicated various differences and various similarities in the opinions young people have when discussing casual and meaningful sex. The most useful information that emerged from this research gives a better insight about how the younger generation views sex, thus giving a clearer picture of what differences exist between the male and female perceptions, of the opposite sex when discussing casual and meaningful sex.
