Abstract: Faith is not simply a matter of the heart and the head. There is an often neglected side to it: the prophetic and liberating praxis of faith. This is the clarion call of the Jesuit priest Ignacio Ellacuría (1930–1989) for the creation of a just society in the world at large, but chiefly in El Salvador, that this book seeks to vindicate. Faith, in his eyes, is the favourable response to a stagnant social reality.
