| Abstract: | This study is an analysis of information obtained through credible sources, who are experts in their field. To sustain this research a detailed explanation on the Unemployment Benefit and Assistance was submitted, in accordance with the Maltese Social Security Act Chapter 318 of the Laws of Malta. The Republic of Cyprus was utilised as a data subject due to geographical resemblance with the Island of Malta and since the economic actives of both Islands are quite similar. The information obtained through this study was analysed and utilised for comparison reasons between both EU member states, focusing mainly on the mode of payment and entitlement rates. |
