dc.description.abstractLa presente nota se propone atraer la atencion de los estudiosos sobre el importante tema de los envios de algodon desde Malta a Espana que fueron muy intensos hasta finales del siglo XVllI. Los historiadores generales del archipielago maltes - [como Schermerhorn, Zammit, Blouet, Luke, y tantos mas] - coinciden en estimar que los cultivos de algodon en Malta constituian uno de los sectores mas relevantes de su economla y que esta produccion dependia a su vez de la exportacion a Espana, de tal suerte que la prohibicion de entrada de la misma en nuestro pais determino la extinction de aquellas plantaciones a mediados del siglo XIX.en_GB
