Abstract: Adenomyosis is a common condition in which tissues of the endometrial lining (endometrial glands and stroma) migrate into the myometrium. These ectopic endometrial tissues incite uterine enlargement through myometrial hyperplasia and hypertrophy. They also cause increased myometrial vascularity.
